The best stands at Olympia's winter antiques fair

Who was given the judges' vote for best stand at Olympia's winter fair?

The winners of the best stand at Olympia's winter antiques and art fair have been announced.

The sought-after awards, split into three categories, are awarded annually in recognition of the design and presentation of stands shown by the BADA and LAPADA members exhibiting at the prestigious fair. The stands were judged by a panel of industry leaders including Homes & Antiques' very own editor, Samantha Scott-Jeffries. Samantha was joined on the judging panel by interior designer Chester Jones and the curator of The Ingram Collection, Jo Baring.

The experts decided the three winners from each antiques association based on overall presentation, imaginative layouts, the quality of exhibits, visual impact and the enticement of the stand to fair visitors.

Marco Forgione, BADA CEO said, 'All three winners have shown exceptional ability. Displaying beautiful objects in a fair environment requires a real understanding not just of the space and environment but also how to appeal to potential buyers. I'm really pleased with this year's winners'.

The BADA best stand winners were:

Best overall stand: Howard Walwyn

Best stand displaying pictures or textiles: Christopher and Angela Legge Carpets and TExtiles

Best stand using display cabinets: AD Antiques & Signed and Designed

Winner of BADA's best stand using display cabinets, AD Antiques & Signed and Designed

Competition was also hotting up over at the LAPADA stands. Rebecca Davies, CEO of the association, said: 'The dealers took exceptional care and creativity in framing their pieces and the meticulous planned use of space was second to none. Objects from our dealers were appealing to the eye and of especially high quality.'

The LAPADA best stand winners were:

Best overall stand: Charles Plante

Best stand displaying pictures or textiles: Dinan & Chighine

Best stand using display cabinets: Matthew Holder

Winner of LAPADA's best overall stand, Charles Plante
